Press Release CEV Jerez
Our rider Alex Martínez Gil, with Dorsal Number 18, and our beloved motorbike CBR1000RR (2008) faced a "pack" of rider more experienced and current motorcycles in the training Saturday's timed. Were started with a total of 35 participants.
The trainings were disputed in the two sessions in rain, Alex finally managed to qualify in a worthy position Nº29 (First test passes, classified, because not all registered as managed). Note that Alex was the first time that was running in Jerez.
On Sunday, with a treatening sky and rain forecast, the team technician had to decide to run with slick or tire rain. Opting for the 2nd option, the race started dry, but soon to start to rain.
After a good start, Alex, began to climb positions in the first back was already in position 23. He was gradually winning positions (22, 21, 19, 18, 17) despite the difficult conditions of the track. A lack of 5 laps to the end due to a multiple crash, the organization showed red flag and was forced to stop the race, in those moments Alex, was already in 15th position, being in the area of points (¡¡¡go debut!!!).
According to the positions of the lap before the stoppage of the race, we finally got to finish ranked nº17 in a total of 35 participants who were grilled. Great result for the debut of the Team and the rider in the CEV, after a weekend complicated by bad time. Do not forget that our other protagonist in the "movie" (the Motorbike) was the first Honda, ¡¡Congratulations!!
If his debut not you think little, we hope you the next weekend (8-4-12) in the new challenge of this season, the Mediterranean Championship (CMV) which will be raced on the Circuit of Castellolí.
We count on your presence and we give you thanks for your collaboration.
